It’s been an active weekend, with another busy day on the horizon tomorrow with church, basketball, and more of the yard work/power-washing shenanigans that have been underfoot (more on that later).
But I don’t want these pics from the hubby’s birthday outing yesterday to fall through the cracks, so heeeere you go!
Grandparents are in town (have I mentioned that in a post, yet??) and since the hubby has been enjoying his pickle ball time so much, lately (yup, he’s totally on the bandwagon), and his parents play, as well, we all headed to this fun facility for some pickle ball, food and fun!

After playing for the hour of court time we reserved, and then eating a tasty dinner on site, we headed to the fun outdoor space for a lovely half hour of the kiddos playing around and the adults enjoying the wonderful temperature.
Unfortunately…some sketchy weather was totally headed our way. Ruh-roh. As we sat out there, we watched the lightning closing in from a distance.
When the winds started kicking up, everybody headed in to one of the indoor areas where we’d ordered a handful of desserts to try.
But…the sky kept getting darker and darker, and we knew if we didn’t hustle with those desserts, we’d be stuck on property until the storm had fully passed.
And with a strange sky like this, it was the right call to bail!
We ran into some hail during the final few minutes on the road, but the car looks to be okay today, so…whew.
