Silly Summer Shark Doodle!

Okay, peeps.

The kiddos were wild and carefree and happy today after school, and lemme tell ya—that’s been a rare occurrence lately!

Better still, we had a device-free afternoon/evening and my crazies kept their noses in books for a good, long while. Always a wonderful thing.

So…after I was done tackling a few of the gazillion logistical/scheduling nightmare to-dos that are so plentiful these days, we decided to…doodle!

A silly summer shark—with just the kind of pool floatie we need to snag before we officially declare swim season open this weekend!

I love how my twins/not twins are clobbering each other in that picture, ha.

As much as I adore doodles, I’ll be the first to admit that they’ve been few and far between in our household of late, because they tend to be, well…triggering.

Between Chicklet, who often requests to abstain, and Little Man and Chica, who spend so much time angsting over every perceived imperfection of their drawings…the whole process can just be a lot.

So. I’ve been careful of moods before I suggest any kind of drawing, ha.

But today, folks, it was a golden round of the type of doodling we alllll know and loves.

We selected our doodle without argument (it was a brand-spanking new post from today!), and everybody remained silly and smiley.

AMEN, HALLELUIAH!

My beloved middle-born even chimed in with some beautiful background giggles while reading her book. I die. :)

Look at Chica’a crazy eyes, ha. You can tell she was hyped up. :)

I’m soooo grateful for just one, single afternoon without a lot of drama. It was a stark contrast to our typical after-school household mood this past month.

And while I’m nowhere near delusional enough to think we’ll carry this vibe through the remainder of the week, I’m hopeful to coast just one more day—for Chica’s graduation, tomorrow!

More mañana.

Until then…HAPPY MONDAY, peeps!

Over and out.
