Guadalupe Summer’s End

Oh man, peeps.

The nasty cold or some such virus that Chica had last week, and then Little Man kind sorta caught as well, has finally caught up to me. Booooo.

I look and sound like poo (this evening, my son said, “Mama, why do you look droopy?”), so between this and my heinous first Fall migraine of last week, I feel a little rough. Meh.

That said—we had a glorious family Friday afternoon/evening, and a really happy Saturday, as well. Then I powered through alllll the things today, including church, family lunch out, a few to-dos, and finally…Guadalupe State River Park, to officially close out the summer.

It seemed like a fitting end, since it’s how we launched our summer back in May. :) Gotta love those full-circle activities.

My brain is too tired to type much, so I’ll just say this: it was beautiful, but the water was hot and stagnant and suuuper low because of the lack of rain this summer. So we enjoyed the atmosphere and the climbing of rocks for an hour…and then we came back home to swim in the backyard, ha.

For some many reasons, it definitely feels like we’ve closed out summer, officially, now. And, yeah, sure, I know the equinox doesn’t happen until later in September, but we’re full force ready to BRING ON THE FALL!

Happy Labor Day Weekend, peeps!

Over and outs
