SOUND (System) Of The Season!

Once upon a time, in a land far, far away (Frisco) we used to have a really awesomesauce surround sound system for a funsies home theater experience.

Then we had a baby.

And another one.

And another one.

And somewhere in there we moved (to accommodate all those babies)…

Then I rejected the giant-arse speakers that didn’t work with our new living room aesthetic…

We barely had time to do anything, let alone watch a whole movie with house-shaking (read: baby waking up) sound…

Then we moved again (same story with living room aesthetic, blah, blah) to San Antonio, life was VERY topsy turvy for several years, and, welp…

Turns out, it’s been—no joke!—NEARLY A DECADE since we’ve had proper, obnoxious surround sound.

BUT THE TIME HAS COME, AGAIN!

Our babies are now getting giant, we’re working to grow the playroom along with their increasing ages, and we finally, finally figured out a way to make it a fun room for family movie watching. :)

It’s going to take a month or two to put together all the elements we need, but the kickstart to this whole thing is the fancy sound system the hubby has been stalking for quite some time (and dreaming about again, for years).

It was delivered today—all 143 pounds of it all!—and it was a massive joy to see this moment come full circle, and to see the joy on the hubby’s face. :)

Though it’s hard to believe, it’s been years and years since we’ve purchased any TVs or speakers or anything really fun and electronic. Once upon a time, we managed regular upgrades, but…life.

I took so much fun video of the hubby opening it all. He was oooohing and ahhhhing so adorably. This was his own Christmas morning moment. ;)

Just look at that smile. He was SO. HAPPY.

Fast forward a few hours and he’d managed to set it all up, and even though it was past the kiddos’ bedtime, we just had to test it all out.

Their faces, as they experience movie theater-like surround sound at home…gah. The BEST.

I hilariously joked to the hubby that we’d failed our children by not introducing loud and proud sound to them sooner, ha. Again…life.

Long and short: it’s going to be SO FUN to get things situated upstairs and start living our best family movie life.

I’m so grateful for this happy day and this opportunity for the hubby to get something he really loves with a passion. He works so hard and requires very little, so this kind of bursting joy over his own “toy” is just the most fun.

Looking forward the next few days!

More maƱana, peeps.

Over and out.
