Punta Cana 2024–Day 1!

WE MADE IT!!!

We may or may not have a bag of medicine with us that warrants its own suitcase, and we may or may not be dosing more than one kiddo with antibiotics as we go along, but…we’re HERE!

(And, no, Chicklet was not cold in the above pic. She was halfway undressed to jump in the pool when I made her pause for this shot, ha.)

Our Spring Break adventure this year brought us to Punta Cana in The Dominican Republic, and I’m so grateful for an easy travel day, yesterday, considering how many of us are still a bit under the weather.

Just a short flight from San Antonio to Houston, then, about a 3.5 hour flight direct to Punta Cana, and…voila! Made it here by mid-afternoon. Just enough time to get our bearings around the resort before the sun went down. :)

Better still, Grandma and Grandpa are here for the fun, and just down the hallway on our floor! Within waving distance. ;)

It’s the first Caribbean exposure for our kiddos, and the sky was so moody broody above the beautiful turquoise waters when we explored just a tiny bit before dinner.

Our recovering babies slept hard (and at least one was loudly snoring through congestion) until room service knocked on our door and roused the hubby and I. You know how I love creepy Mama/sleeping kiddo shots and so rarely get them these days!

Their smooshy faces were dressed in their swim gear and ready for a buffet and splashing fun in no time. One joy of this particular vacation: it’s an all-inclusive, which is something we haven’t done in several years. It makes the dining whoopla extra-fun and really easy-breezy.

My three little fish were sooooooo happy just to be in the water. Our plan was basically the main pools, followed by the on-site water park, then beach, and more pool time. Basically, swim/slide/surf/swim. Then repeat. :)

Tomorrow will pretty a whole lotta the same for our crew: sun and sand and splashing and FOOD. And just some quality time together.

Happy Spring Break, peeps!

Over and out.
