Next week, when we’re finally back (for good) in San Antonio, I’ll explain more about our kind of spontaneous decision to book a return trip here, after our visit last summer for Nanna’s 70th bday.
But for now, I’ll just say that I was a little cranky as we were making our way out of town. It’s been a long month with busy schedules and life things and it was a bit daunting to travel, yet again (especially to leave Coda puppy), and deal with all that it entails to vacay with our crew of five.
But I officially feel like an ungrateful jerk for ever having thoughts in the back of my mind that I wanted to cancel our plans, because the blue skies, the mountain air, the sweater-wearing, and the happy/focused family time is wonderful.
No matter what preceded the trip or what will follow, I’m appreciative of the now.
And the now for today involved:
A classic Independence Day parade along Main Street (Little Man scored so much swag thrown from the floats!).
A gondola up the mountain to the Epic Discovery area, and then a chair lift even higher so we could experience a 1,600 foot alpine slide back down. Woohoo!
Shopping and eating. A lot. (Including some fun jewelry finds, like these pretty charm necklaces the girlies assembled for themselves.)
A Sasquatch-finding Escape Room adventure (we made it out!) that both terrified and delighted my kiddos. Apparently, one Escape Room last week for Chica’s bday and we’re now officially addicts. ;)
And now…match the pics with the activity, ‘cause I’m too tired to type more captions, ha.
More mañana, peeps!
Over and out.
