Breckenridge 2024: Day 2!

Hellooooo, peeps, from our second full day here in Breckenridge. Also known as: dogsledding day!

So…it’s totally our jam to plan excursions and activities on any of our trips, and since we’ve recently had a lovely round of horseback riding (in Telluride), and also launched our first whitewater rafting there, we decided to pivot and do something totally different for this Colorado round.

We went to visit a fully functioning kennel, where we got to meet 152 working Siberian huskies!

We loved alllllll up on them before experiencing a summertime dogsled run (aka, being pulled in a golf cart, ha).

It was sooooo fun and different, and absolutely an experience I would NOT have connected with in the same way, prior to having Coda puppy in our family.

Seriously, no joke: as someone who was previously canine-challenged in life, it’s amazing to find myself one with the dogs, now, ha.

And I truly mean that. Each one of them was just a more giant or more white or more blue-eyed or more scratchy-furred Coda. I loved them all. And so did the kiddos.

So, now, enjoy a gazillion gratuitous pics:

Also, because a year from now, the kiddos will ask me the names of the dogs who led our run, here they are:

Griswold
Jaguar
Pearl
Arrow
Vetter (only an 11 month puppy!)
Rain
Mesa

And Hailey was our musher (guide).

After the morning fun, we went to our favorite little pizza place, where the hubby basically cries over the quality of their gluten-free/dairy-free crust…

And then the kiddos and I kinda sort of tanked for a couple of hours mid-afternoon.

I ran a fever for a while and had some chills, so we just took an hour or two of downtime before having a low-key, outdoor (chilly!) dinner and coffee/dessert run. All good things.

But if I look a little worse for the wear in this pic, that why…

Okay, other bonus random shots the kiddos wanted to take…

And the t-shirt I most definitely need, ha…

Getting some shut-eye before our final day.

Happy Friday, peeps!

Over and out.
