Honestly, it was kind of the peak of our holiday mania—at least, before the actual holiday, that is.
Honestly, when we launched this holiday party of ours several years ago, we were still coming out of post-Covid life, still settling in San Antonio, and still trying to make connections.
We managed to pull off our 4th annual, Flash Craft Kids’ Holiday Party, with 27 kiddos present (sounding like a raucous heard of jolly animals all throughout the house), and it was a smashing success!
Honestly, when we launched this holiday party of ours several years ago, we were still coming out of post-Covid life, still settling in San Antonio, and still trying to make connections.
The purpose of the party was twofold: 1) to give my kiddos a really amazing holiday memory, and 2) to meet kids and families and/or get to know them a little better on our home turf.
Now, some years later, it’s kind of wild to think of the origins and all this lovely pasty accomplished, in terms of making connections and fostering friendships. And now, the whole shebang has pretty much taken on a (totally insane!) life of its own! And it’s definitely become a cornerstone holiday tradition of ours.
I’m happy (ish?) to report that the only injury this year was to my own kid. Little Man took a knee to the nose and was gushing blood. And the only piece of furniture broken was the playroom ottoman (a whole hoard of kiddos were using it as a launch pad), and the hubby was able to repair the support beam that busted, whew! Oh, and Little Man’s nose is just fine, ha.
I’m really not kidding when I say I probably deserve a medal for letting this kind of chaos reign in my house. But it’s worth every bit of prep and stress and concern during the actual event to hear the JOYFUL noises and see the glowing, happy, silly faces.
Okay, here’s a slew of pics, including the prep, the projects, the presents, and calm (clean!) house before the storm, and…the kiddos!
More mañana, peeps!
Over and out.
