Chica’s NJHS Initiation!

Man, peeps.

What a banner night for our girl—and about a hundred of her peers at school! It was…

NJHS initiation!

Two months ago, we received word that Chica met the requirements to submit an application for membership. Basically, a minimum grade average of 90 for the entirety of 6th and 7th grade.

Then, she completed the application, listing her extra-curriculars and leadership experience—along with a personal essay about her qualifications.

It went through a panel review (among teachers and administrators at the school), and we received word she was accepted. Woohoo!

We’ve been told that, in middle school, as long as you have the grades and no behavioral record at the school to cause rejection, it’s a sure thing, but, man, we were still proud of her!

And proud of sooooo many other sweet and fun buddies. Such a solid little scholarly group she runs around with. It’s kind of a riot, and a joy to see them slaying it, together.

And speaking of slaying it…love, love seeing my eldest dress up and enjoy it. Even when she looks so old I want to WEEP!

It was an efficient ceremony and, honestly, I had flash forward visions of her high school career that will be upon us in a BLINK. I still can’t believe she’s wrapping up 7th and will only have one more year in middle school!

Again, I’m so grateful for her steady friends and her ongoing, positive outlook. :)

Yay, for brainy girls!! Who run the world??? GIRLS. ;)

Happy Hump Day, peeps!

Over and out.
