Okay, peeps.
Whew!
It's Tuesday (but, kinda like a Monday, since the kiddos had a long weekend), and before I rewind and share some catch-up posts of our activities, I'd like to share the brief (oh, so brief) calm before the happy chaos.
So...there we were, on Thursday early evening (circa 5:15 p.m.).
The kiddos had all made it home from school. Chica didn't have afternoon Cross Country practice (because she'd had it early that morning), Little Man didn't have to race to Table Tennis lesson (because he'd opted for an evening at home), and it was so heavenly, it was almost disorienting! Truly.
No homework (the kiddos had wrapped up the first nine weeks of school that day)!
Nowhere to be!
Nothing to cook (Thursday nights I'm OFF and it's Chick-fil-A yumminess).
A whole, long list of to-dos, but nothing that couldn't be pushed off to the following day!
A just-bathed, exhausted (from a day at her play place) pup ready and willing to snuggle!
And...SILENCE.
Just, blissful, exhausted-kiddos-ready-to-decompress-and-chill SILENCE.
I can't even tell you how insanely wonderful it was. And rare.
Rare, rare, RARE.
So rare, in fact, that I felt like I was doing something illegal when I decided to sit on the couch with my Kindle for half an hour. What a novel (pun, intended) idea.
For reference, please see the following post from a couple months ago--which was, quite literally, the last time I felt this way:

Interestingly, I wasn't the only one who felt a little illegal or at loose ends over the unscheduled, free-feeling time!
My kiddos kept gravitating to me, one by one, kind of flummoxed over the nothingness before them.
It was wild.
It would have felt a little ennui-ish, like everybody was ready to fall into a slightly depressive slump, but, instead, it was just....ahhhhhhhh.
Is this what relaxing feels like??? ;)
