If we’re in Breckenridge, we always pop over to Vail for a day and the same, vice versa. It’s just a quick 45-minute trek, and beautiful to drive through picturesque Frisco, to boot. Like getting two for the price of one. ;)
We had some loose food plans to help anchor our day, but no major excursions on the books, which can be a good or very, very bad thing for our crew.
In this case, I’ll just say that it was a bit of a touch-and-go start until we sorted our plans, caught a necessary shuttle to a hiking trail we enjoyed last year, and got our collective act together.
But, boy, did we!
A hustled two-mile, 45-minute hike along a fantastic little trail did a lot to set our moods back on track. Nothing like Mother Nature to give a swift mood redirect.
We enjoyed such a happy trek and kept pushing for just a few minutes longer, stopping for happy wildflower, blue skies and family pics—until we realized we needed to head back down, stat, to make it back for our return shuttle.
I’m grateful for the exercise to really get our day off to an official start. And we just kept on going!
More in the next post!
Over and out.
