Chica took her first unassisted steps today!!!!
It happened just a few seconds before this pic:
She was there, at the nightstand, but one of her ten zillion pacis was on the ottoman...and she just had to have it. So she stepped off into the great blue yonder--a huge step and a half--and got it.
Then this afternoon, she took FOUR consecutive steps (from a chair to one of her toys). Four!
It's so crazy. Just two weeks ago, she was still in the phase of protesting (rather loudly) anytime we tried to hold her little hands and help her toddle along. But man--what a difference two weeks can make.
I'm not sure if I'm ready for this phase, but it sure is freaking exciting. And pretty darn amazing.
Second (and totally cute and random) tidbit for the day: Chica has taken on the role of Official Greeter--everywhere we go, she waves at everyone and everything she sees.

The cutie pie even waved at passing cars during our walk. And I'm happy to report that she got several to slow down, smile, and return the gesture.
