Better late than never...a few pics from Chica's bday!
We decided to have a meal at home to celebrate so that everything would be nice and relaxed, and so she'd be able to crawl around do whatever her little heart desired.
So I decorated the dining room and made some enchiladas ahead of time (and then put Nanna to work in the kitchen on the day of. Nanna's are good for things like that).
I think Chica had fun moving around and soaking in all the love and attention.
Then, of course, she was pretty pumped about the main attraction. The cake!
She was pretty dainty about it all, which I wasn't at expecting. She took her time poking around to see what was up:
It didn't take her long to figure out it was pretty yummy.

But luckily, she was a pretty easygoing sport when we eventually pulled her away. She'd had a decent fill :)
Even with two weeks to let is soak in, I can't believe my little nugget is a year old. Every day, it's the greatest joy, and I gotta say, I'm so glad I have all these posts to look back on.
