Too Much S-o-f-i-a???

Today was a rainy, dreary day.

The kind I would usually like--if my kiddo wasn't a little on the "delicate" (translation: cranky) side, and I wasn't officially stuck indoors due to a jammed car seat belt tightener that I couldn't fix on my own.

So, forced or voluntarily, we burrowed inside to enjoy the downtime, which, to my beloved daughter, meant a day of nonstop Sofia the First.

I didn't let her watch the first episode (despite her über-adorable snd very hard to resist "Sia? Sia?" pleas), until around lunchtime. But after that, it was all downhill.

We watched in the bedroom (on her official watching pillow, of course).

We watched in the playroom. (Sorry, no pic.)

We watched in the living room, standing up...

...and watched in the living room, sitting down.

And every dang time I tried to distract her with something else--Legos, food, books, a change of location--she went right back to her sweet "Sia?" pleas. And I pretty much gave in. Which left me feeling like a pretty crummy Mama today.

I mean--how much Sofia is too much Sofia???

To be fair, though I feel badly about the binge watching, and I'm asking this how-much-is-too-much question, I'm not overly concerned. Because I know my child loves to play, and loves to be active (as anybody who knows her at all can attest), so I'm not living in fear of raising a couch potato.

It was just one of those days when you do what you gotta do, and maybe deal with a little guilt.

But, bottom line: if a sweet little age-appropriate Disney show marathon with singing, dancing, and cute life lessons was our do-what-you-gotta-do, guilt-inducing, rainy day activity, I'm just fine with that.

And I'll also be just fine when the weather clears up and I can take Chica to run errands or run in the park, and all will be balanced in our world.

:)

Happy Rainy Week, peeps. Here's to enjoying a forced slower pace.
