Lever Clever

We stopped by the new house today (10 days to closing, peeps!), and I confirmed what I realized awhile back:

I'm screwed.

In particular, I'm screwed because our house has lever doors (which we don't currently have), and my little nugget figured them there thingies out in about 2.5 seconds.

She keeps growing and getting smarter, gosh dang it. Despite my best thwarting attempts.

So obviously, all the doors leading to the exterior of the house have some sort of deadbolt to keep her inside. And the alarm is also set to beep anytime one of those exterior doors opens--just in case.

But...there are about a thousand other doors I need to be able to close and quarantine, so I've bought a couple of these gadgets to try out:

Not too pumped about the $13 cost per device. But hey--what's money when Mama's sanity is at stake here? Am I right, or am I right???

In other completely and utterly unrelated news: we had to pick Daddy up at work yesterday (given my shot transmission and out of commission car), and frolicked across the street to a lovely pond whilst waiting on him to finish up that bringing-home-the-bacon-thing. And whilst frolicking, we came across some...

DUCKS!

(Chica loves ducks. I had to hold her back.)

Luckily, there were large sticks to divert her attention (Chica also loves sticks. And rocks. She's quite discriminating, that one.)

That's all for the random post night. More this week about our crazing the-move-is-upon-us-antics!

:)
