Yep. The tree died. It is no more.
:(
We should've known it would fall overnight when we saw signs of it coming off the wall immediately after application yesterday. So I guess it's a good thing we didn't waste more of our precious time getting the entire thing up to begin with.
I'm sorry to say that this is the first time the hubby and I have had any trouble with a decal, so I'm thinking it's a vendor error and not a user one, but perhaps that's just optimistic thinking. (If I'm delusional, lemme stay that way, pretty please).
So...we're back at Tree Square One, and I have only the consolation that I love, love my Pom Pom flowers and have more of them to use when we re-order and apply a tree that'll stick.
Now the good news: after I wallowed in my hormonal, my-decal-tree-died-why-can't-I-get-one-thing-done-in-Chicklet's-nursery hormonal state for much of the day, I pulled it together and rallied, for the sake of Chica's room and the bloody difficult decal that still needed to be finished in there.
And (drum roll please): VOILA!
We have completed branches (despite my cursing those dang little smaller-than-a-hair limb parts and leaves)! And birds!
Forgive the crappy pics--it was after dinner and, therefore, terrible lighting, when we finished. I'll take much better ones tomorrow--pinky swear.
Despite the terrible lighting and bad-angled shots, I think it turned out pretty great. And it's sticking to the wall (which is a lot more than I can say for some decals I know).
So stay tuned for better pics as we keep trucking along in both rooms. Curtains for Chica's windows arrive this week, so that's up next on the list.
And in the meantime, enjoy these shots of our little family walk down to the pond before dinner (oh--and Chica's happy encounter with a neighbor's dog on the way home):
Happy Sunday, peeps :)
