No Suit, No Problem

On our second full day at the lake resort, Daddy headed off to golf while the ladies explored some of the activities offered on the property.

We started with a little outdoor painting...

Followed by another round of putt-putt, since Chica luuuuved it the night before...

Then we played some skeet ball and watched a rubber ducky pond race, but nothing was getting my beloved firstborn all lit up inside. And I really wanted to see her having a total, near-psychotic blast, hehe.

So on the way back to our condo, when I spotted one of the property's pools, I veered off for a little pit-stop, since Chicklet was finally dozing in the Bjorn.

I thought we'd just dip our feetsies in to cool off...

But that was so lovely that a little stroll sounded even better, along this perfect-for-toddlers platform at the edge of the pool.

Of course, one thing led to another, and some splashing beside this waterfall thingy was an absolute must (especially when Chica found another little toddler who would splash back).

And before we knew it, we (read: Chica) were fully immersed and having the. best. time.

Of course, by the time Chicklet woke, Chica was sporting a 20-pound diaper that could easily anchor a gigantic sea vessel.

But nothing could spoil her foil. Especially some silly old diaper. So we kept playing. And we even make sure to give Chicklet her first non-bath tub water dip before we had to leave (which she seemed okay with).

Naturally, since we had soooooo much fun in the water, I was on a quest for even more fun after nap time (and dinner at a stunning yacht club that made me feel super spoiled--yuuum), 'cause I'm a fun-junkie like that.

So when I was wandering around he yacht club property after my girlies had ramped up their volume a little too much for civilized company, I found this awesomesauce cove and knew it was the place for us.

It started with just the toes again...

But I never learn. So you can guess what happened next ;)

Look--Chicklet was in on the fun, too! Hanging with Nanna in that there lounge chair in the distance...

It was the perfect little three-day getaway. Just enough fun to wear everybody out in that lovely, happy way, and to make us all feel like we'd vacated our normal routine for a bit. Which is soooo nice when an infant is ruling the household routine of late!

I know it sounds a little cray-cray, but now that we're home and it's officially August, I feel like the days of summer are-a numbered. Better make the most of it! (Though I'll definitely take Fall temperatures!)

Happy Friday, peeps :)

P.S. We has s'mores.
