If I can’t walk tomorrow, it’s because of our horseback riding escapades this afternoon!
Holy moly, was it rigorous, gorgeous, and, at times, a little-too-close-to-the-edge-of-the-cliff harrowing for Yours Truly! Definitely our most challenging ride of the many we’ve taken on vacations.
But absolutely worth it. :)
This was the description from the website that led me to booking, and it was pretty spot on:
The romance of this ride will surprise you! We’ll trailer your horses to the Bear Creek Trailhead, cross the Dolores River horseback, then wind along the Little Bear Pack Trail. Just when you think it couldn’t be more beautiful, striking ridgelines present themselves across the creek. A few steps from either of our tucked-away lunch sites, 360 degree views of both valley and mountaintop await you. The sound of Bear Creek beneath, and the breeze through the aspens is indescribable.
Okay, now a rewind to our arrival and gear up, and alllllllll the way through to the end of the ride. :)
