Adored and Adorned

What???

This old thing???

Why, it's just something I pulled out of my closet (if by "closet" you mean Disney Store.)

It soooo makes slaving away in the kitchen way more fun.

(Yes, yes my name is Crazy Mother, and I have a problem. I indulge my daughter's every princess-dress whim.

I went in for a replacement Sofia dress today [since Chica's outgrown her old one she got for Christmas] and came out with this fancy, pink Sleeping Beauty one--because she lit up like a megawatt bulb and nearly hyperventilated with joy when she picked it out.

We'll just tell Daddy that this one had sleeves, so we just had to have it. You know, for Fall or whatever.

Side note: the cashier asked if we needed to purchase the matching trick-or-treat bag and I had to say, "no, no, this is just everyday wear.")

Having girls is too much fun.

And too 'spensive.

Now for a related my-daughter-is-ultra-girly thought.

Yesterday, Chica spotted the container of some of her spare jewelry. (You see, I gotsta keep loads hidden or she'll wear EVERY piece she has, and then she'll be too heavy to lift. Or put into a car seat. And she'll likely topple over just trying to walk.

But it occurred to me as she was putting on all the pieces that her collection is really a testament to the people who care for her.

Just right here she has:

A necklace from Mama and Daddy.
A couple necklaces from Nanna.
A necklace and bracelet from Dee and Dada.
A bracelet from her Aunt Amber.
A necklace from her Great Aunt Judy.
A hairbow from her Godmother Lisa.
A necklace from a neighbor.

And that's just this handful of jewels! There's so much more where that came from--from friends of grandparents, friends of parents, and so many more who think of her and give with a happy heart.

If only it were the case that all children in this world were so adored. Because that affection is worth far more than any physical possessions my girls could ever own, and I'm so grateful for it.

:)

Happy Hump Day, peeps!
