Snow Play

This morning, I had a beautiful, quiet, sweet bit of time with my eldest, who woke happily after a good night's rest to a surprise dusting of snow.

We admired the view from every window we could, and then shared it with Chicklet when she woke.

Of course, Chica had seen snow before--her very first Christmas Day; the ice storm last year right after we moved--but she'd never really played in it. And though this round wasn't exactly enough to build a snowman, I could tell by her constant glances out the window that she'd love a go at it.

So when Chicklet went down for her morning nap, we bundled up and headed out.

I love the pics of her stepping out into the great, white (literally) wonder:

She got such a kick out of it sticking to her shoes.

We crunched and shuffled our way around, making the most of the heaviest patches.

And we tried (sort of unsuccessfully) to gather some up.

Then at the very end, I de-mittened her so she could really feel the cold. This is her, "what the...?" face :)

We couldn't stay out long because it was pretty dang cold and we're all a bit under the weather, but I'm so glad I took her out. And after a shower to warm up, the sweet, little bugger made herself right at home in Mama and Daddy's bed ;)

Only thing that would've made the fun better would have be having both my beloved girlies out there, but it was a little too brrrrrr cold for this nugget.

Next time, my sweet girl. Next time.

Love the simple things with my beautiful girls.

Love the unexpected holiday-season snow.

Happy Monday, peeps!
