Chocolate Dipped Marshmallows!

Last week, I saw this simple, kid-friendly, baking (I type that loosely) project online and thought it would be fun for the girlies. So I bought the goods and waited for a good day.

Apparently, to my crazy, pregnant, already-mother-of-two brain, a "good day" is a day in which my eldest doesn't nap, my baby is a tad cranky, and both are slightly cabin-feverish because of all the rain.

So...bring on the SUGAR!

And then some more sugar.

And finally, sprinkles to top off that sugar. Ha.

It is, of course, a scientifically-proven fact that you cannot place a jumbo marshmallow in front of a child without expecting it to be eaten.

So I sacrificed one 'mallow and put a bunch more on the counter, along with the kabob sticks for extra distraction.

Then we poured out our sprinkles to really get things going.

At long last, the 'mallows were ready for dipping and decorating.

But the sprinkles were just so distracting, Chica had to stop and taste test.

But she returned to dipping for a moment...

...before the siren call of the sprinkles lured her back.

Meanwhile, I tossed Chicklet up into The Learning Tower, too, and gave her a marshmallow. 'Cause I'm just that kind of awesomesauce mom.

Needless to say, she dug it, and I just stood back and watched my precious babes inhale the sugar.

But look--we actually ended up with a couple of decorated marshmallows!

And chocolate-covered pacis.

Yum.

And happy, happy, joy, joy, sugar-delirious babes :)

I mean just look at her. That face was almost worth the subsequent crash ;)

Love my girls.

And aside from the bath Chicklet needed, the mess wasn't as bad as I expected--ha.

Happy Almost Friday, peeps!
