Solar Light Jar

Hellooooo, and Happy Monday!

(If by "happy," you mean: survived an epic, public, dual [as in, both children] tempter tantrum that resulted in 8-months preggers Mama forcibly hauling 50 pounds of kicking, screaming, wailing, misbehaving girls out of Nordstrom [post mall lunch with Daddy] across a 105-degree parking lot, stripping one misbehaving child of her princess dress in said parking lot [as punishment] and enduring a 30-minute drive home [that was lengthened by a necessary and rage-infused stop due to aforementioned, disrobed toddler unbuckling her big girl car seat and throwing herself flailing, screeching and crying, to the car floor], during which, one child yelled the entire way, "I'm not going in time out," [for the record, she soooo went in time out] while the other child passed out cold [thereby, refusing to take an afternoon nap once home, because she thought she'd already had one].)

But that's a story for another day.

Perhaps the day I go into labor because MY CHILDREN ARE BRINGING ME TO THE BRINK, AND IT WILL BE A MIRACLE IF THIS THIRD CHILD GETS FULLY BAKED.

Anywho...I digress.

Let's fastforward to later in the afternoon, when my eldest was appropriately punished, remorseful and sweet, and ready for a project.

A solar light!

We branched out a few weeks ago and browsed the new, Jennifer Garner line of crafts sold at JoAnn's Fabrics, and at first glance, I like what I see.

It's packaged well, organized into four themed categories, and creative yet simple. One caveat: a little pricey (in my opinion), so I'm happy that the store was running a 40% off special so we could snag this kit (Side note: Chica also received a tiara decorating kit from this line for her bday that we have yet to bust out. It's coming up soon. Today, she wanted to paint.)

The idea is pretty simple. Place stickers on jar. Paint jar. Peel off stickers. Place solar light (that you charge in the sun) lid on top, and voila.

Pretty nifty, and Chica really, really loves anything that involves paint, so it was a winner.

Here's hoping that tomorrow we have more of the happy, cooperative, project-doing side of my girlies, rather than the tantrums.

:)
