Crown Project

Hellooooooo, and happy Monday!

And it was, actually, a happy Monday around our casa :)

I'm so grateful to report that I felt much sprightlier yesterday afternoon and today. And I will seriously take any sprightly hours--or even minutes--I can get in these last couple 'o pregnancy weeks.

So the girlies and I took total advantage and had some fun quality time, project time, and lunch-with-daddy-on-a-patio time. But these pics are just the project goods.

It's my fault we've had this project since Chica's bday in June and haven't busted it out. And all because I was a dummy and misread the instructions all those months ago and thought I was going to need a glue gun and an iron. Puh-shah! Boy was I wrong.

So here it is...a fun crown project from Jennifer Garner's craft line.

I was super impressed with the quality of the crown (it came with two but we only used one today). It was great, plush fabric. Very durable.

So we started by cutting out some diamond shapes from the colored fabric squares that were included.

Then we peeled off the sticky back of the fabric and placed it on the crown (this is one of the steps I'd misread when I first scanned the instructions; it mentioned ironing the fabric on for extra oomph, but it's not necessary at all--yay, because that would've been no bueno with tiny hands around).

Next, Chica selected some of the included jewels and placed them on top of the diamonds (again, my misunderstanding was that we'd have to hot glue them--but nope, the kit came with these uber-adhesive little round dots. Easy peasy).

Of course, Chicket made it her personal mission to test the strength of adhesion ;) But we'll just chock her "assistance" up to quality checking.

After Chica got the diamonds and jewels just so, she added some other embellishments...including this fun, purple, braided rope for flair.

Of course, as usual, once the crown was resplendently complete, Chica didn't want to model it. Boooo. So I sought inspiration elsewhere when I saw Chicklet stealing Monster Mike's shoes.

He's always the best model :)

So game for anything.

A total rockstar model. (And just look at Chica's smile).

Pretty much matches Mike's smile. Hehe.

I definitely give a thumbs-up to this project.

And you know what? It was karma that is misread the instructions way back when, because it was the perfect craft for this lovely day with my babies.

Happy Monday, peeps!
