1 Week

Taking weekly pictures of my babies throughout their first year of life has been such a tremendous joy for me, and starting from the very beginning with my third (third!) beautiful babe is something very special.

But today's picture is a little bittersweet, as it's truly a testament to the seasons of life.

I've mentioned a couple times this past week that we've been experiencing extreme highs and lows. The highs need no explanation (hello, beloved Baby Boy). And the lows have mostly revolved around a few setbacks I've had since birth (I do not recommend ten hours of vomiting and a middle-of-the-night ER visit at seven days post-birth with a healing cesarean scar).

However, there has been one other major loss in our family--the passing of the hubby's maternal grandmother just a few days after Baby Boy's arrival.

Though it is a blessing to know that they existed on this earth at the same time--however fleeting that time may have been--it was tough to send the hubby out of town for the funeral today and stay behind.

So for this first weekly pic, Baby Boy donned a tie in honor of his great-grandmother, GiGi. A sweet, ocassionally sassy, always lovely, classy woman, who lived a good and loved life.

A long day for all, but that made the end of it all the better once we were reunited.

Looking forward to so many beautiful weeks of pictures with my boy. And I have no doubt that many will feature cameos from his sisters--just as this first one did.

P.S. For accuracy, I must note that, yes, I am aware that Baby Boy was born on a Saturday. But our weekly pics have always been a fun weekday activity, so Monday will be the official day :)
