We're only a few weeks away from the Spring dance recital now, and today was the super-duper fun day of trying on costumes!
The girls are doing a tap number this time, to the song, Chatanooga Choo-Choo, and it's precious (even when they get distracted instead of doing the choreographed steps, ha).
And, here's, the costume:
The suitcase is part of a little bit they do at the end :)
Chicklet was crazy excited to be allowed in the studio, as we were all in there together today. Moms, siblings, dancers. One big, happy gang.
It was a blast to see the girls dressed up and playing to the crowd.
And the instructor, Miss Anna (who happens to be the studio owner's mother), is just a godsend, as she has endless patience with the girls--plus just the right amount of authority--and finds so much joy in them.
And she even gifted them each with polka dot makeup bags to match their costumes. And she filled them with lipstick, eye shadow, a necklace, plastic ring, headband and Kleenex.
I mean, talk about going above and beyond. We actually started crafting a group present for her when all the girls came over after class for the play date. Boy does she deserve one.
We had a dozen kids in all for the play date today, and it continues to be such a joy and wild success.
If I've said it before, I'll say it a million times more--I'm so grateful to have happened upon such a wonderful extracurricular activity for Chica, so close to our home! And the blessing of these lovely ladies and their kids to play with is just a beautiful thing.
Oh--and I'll try to post the freaking adorable video later this week that I took today of Chicklet mimicking her sister's dance routine. She soooo earned her right to join a dance class this Fall. She will die of happiness :)
Happy Hump Day, peeps!
