Foot-Powered Rocket Launcher!

So...we had a totally unplanned hiatus from our monthly Kiwi Crate subscription, due entirely to my failure to update my payment information when I received a new credit card months back.

Mommy fail. Boooooo.

But.

Apparently, abscence does make the heart grow fonder, because this first project back on the wagon was a stompin' good time!

Like, literally.

(Oh, and I should note here that we'd previously downgraded ourselves to the simpler Koala Crate subscription, for slightly younger kiddos. But when I re-upped, we bumped back to our original Kiwi level of difficulty.

The projects are certainly much more involved, and occasionally too tough for the girlies to accomplish without major help...but the payoff is usually waaaaaay worth it. As you'll see here!)

Now, drumroll puh-lease, for today's theme:

We made our very own rocket launcher. Woohoo!

The girlies mostly stole parts while I attempted the quick assembly...

But occasionally pitched in...

And, of course, tested out the various components. ;)

Here's what the finished product looked like. Easy, peasy, and fairly sturdy:

Please note how we started all prim and proper for our first official launch (ready, set, blastoff!)...

And got much more "enthusiastic"...

This is about the time Little Man joined us post-nap...no doubt, due to our ruckus:

The kiddos were crazy-excited to show off to Daddy when he arrived home. :)

I mean, this was seriously a coolio project and a bangin' fun start to our Kiwi return.

And, I'm not gonna lie--it kept us occupied for a good, long time.

Win/win!

Here's hoping it will still be diverting tomorrow.
