Low-Key Loveliness

So...we had such a fantastic, low-key, awesomesauce day that it was almost gag-inducing in its perfection.

I was worried we might have a hard time filling out our more open time this week--and perhaps we still will at some point--but today, was just the best.

Without the tick-tock of the school day clock, we went for morning donuts for the first time in ages...

And got out bouncy-house and project on...

And then, in our way home from Target and picking up lunch, we had the best, spontaneous rain storm...

(Please note Little Man's healing chin injury, oye. My rambunctious boy met the rod-iron playroom railing with his face a few days ago).

But back to our day...

We had four crab apples fall in the yard from the rain, much to the kiddos' delight!

Then, the best miracle of all: with a little finagling--and two girlies snuggled in my bed during the cloudy afternoon--the whole household got a nap.

Can I puh-lease get a hallelujah?!!

It. Was. Heavenly.

And so needed by all of us. (They're tired from growing. I'm just tired, ha.)

Then, post-siesta, we baked and sampled--a lot.

And did dome bunny watching...

And, finally, the cherry on top of or happy day sundae: I checked the weather map and about died over the temperature. 83 degrees! So I rounded up the gang and we went for a loooooong bike ride to the pond for the first time in weeks and weeks.

They. Were. So. Happy.

Shouting excitedly over every little thing, like it had been centuries since they'd been in nature, ha. What can I say? The pool has been monopolizing our outdoor time (obviously, in the Texas summer heat!).

So, to sum up: one really great day, we had.

And please remind me of this in a couple days when things might take a turn for the worst and I'm pulling my hair out.

;)

Over and out, peeps.
