Fairy Godmothers Who Lunch

So...yesterday was Grandparents Lunch Day at Chica's school and the timing was just terrible, considering we had all the grandparents in town on rotation for the past couple of weeks, but no grandparents in town for the big day.

But.

This was one of those scheduling no-gos that worked out to perfection. Because we had someone just as awesomescause in town.

The perfect lunch buddy for such a special day.

The best grandparent pinch-hitter in the world.

The incomparable.

The fabulous.

The person who always does a soul good.

Godmother Lisa!

Fresh off a Hawaiian vacation followed by a Dallas stop (hence our lovely visit we've been having with her) before her final return home, she was game for a kindergarten cafeteria. And loved it--as evidenced by this text I got right after lunch wrapped up (I've cropped it to remove teacher's names):

Chica was thrilled to have her Godmother with her, and from the re-telling on both sides, it sounds like the two of them had such a special visit.

I'm so thrilled it all worked out as it did.

And even more thrilled that the school allows lunch visitors anytime. So any Chica loved ones will have plenty of chances when schedules allow. :)

I'm currently ignoring the fact that Lisa returned home today and we're officially sans-company after weeks of entertainment. Thank goodness tomorrow's Friday, so the hubby can help save me from my inevitable slump!

And I'll just re-visit the pics of my dear friend to tide me over until her return.

God Bless Godmothers and Grandparents and everybody in between.

And God Bless this upcoming week of not-much-on-the-agenda as we continue to settle into our new normal.

I've got oodles of posts to catch up on, so here's hoping time allows!

Over and out.
