FALL Crafting!

So...let's pretend I haven't been totally MIA from this here blog all week and just be super-super excited that I'm stuck in a car for a few hours with some insane in the membrane kiddos who are (currently) engrossed in a movie, so I've finally got time to post, post, post!

So in case that wasn't clear, be ready for an onslaught of catch-up posts.

M'Kay? M'kay.

First on the agenda--some pics of our crafting.

We've been so busy over the past few weeks and so fluid with our daytime schedule as we try to settle into our new normal, but...we're finally getting into a bit of a groove regarding the best times of day to get our project on.

It's so hard wanting to entertain the wee ones without leaving Chica out while she's at school, but we're figuring it out.

Mid-morning is great for some painting or coloring, and late afternoon is the time for the new and creative stuff so everyone can participate. A little old and a little new keeps everybody happy and entertained (and Mama extra-tired from cleaning up lots o' artistic messes, ha).

Glitter Leaves:

Last week, we busted out these fun peel-away sticky leaves and a huge container of Fall-colored glitter and got in our autumnal zone. (Too bad the dang weather isn't cooperating with this crafty zone we're in.) And who doesn't love going nuts with glitter???

Too bad Little Man glittered (yup, I'm makin' it a verb) his hand and not the leaf. ;)

Wooden Halloween Shapes:

Next up in our crafty cue was a handful of spooky wooden shapes ripe for painting.

Silly Face Masks:

One of the projects we've busted out while Chica was at school was a repeat, so she wouldn't be too upset about missing it the second go-'round. It's an easy-breezy mask kit with loads o' pieces so we can keep coming back to it again and again.

It's so fun remembering the days when Chica was the masked wonder, and Chicklet was just staring on in awe. Ah, the circle of preschool life. :)

Painting and More Painting:

Chicklet asks pretty much every day, all day, to do some sort of painting. So we rotate our water colors and paintbrush markers and anything else we can find to suit her flair. Again, it's a bit of a beat down to clean it all up repeatedly but totally worth it for the fun.

It makes me so happy to sneak these creative interludes into our days.

It's truly the first sign of calming down after a busy timeframe when we can get back to our crafts. And one of the biggest boosts to my Mama Mental Stability, ha.

And I send loads more on the horizon.

Stocked craft closet + holiday inspiration = projects galore!
