Our Velvet Crush!

So.

I have a widdle iddy biddy confession:

We’ve gone a little velvet cuh-razy this season.

And I totally dig it.

(The velvet and the crazy.)

And we’re not the only ones.

I kid you not, we collectively (the girlies and I) have more velvet items in our closets than I care to admit.

But:

1. We’ve been wearing them like mad.
2. They wash and wear insanely well.
3. We get loads of kind compliments!

The funny thing is that people always think the girlies looks so fancy and posh in their velvet, but our key pieces could not have been more affordable, which makes it feel like our awesomesauce little secret (that I’m about to out by telling all three of you who probably read this, ha).

It all started with these gorgeous jewel-toned dresses I found for the girlies at Old Navy (on sale for $8.47):

Then I was desperate for leggings and wasn’t having much luck until a few weeks later, when I ran into these on sale at The Children’s Place for about $9:

But I was still longing for something patterned, so my heart literally burst and flew out of my chest when I ran across these leggings of perfection at Zara a few weeks after that (for $8 each):

I kid you not (I feel like I’m saying that a lot), I luuuurv mixing and matching these combos so much, and the girlies luuuuurv the softness so much, and they still look sooooo perfect after many, many washes, that I’m tempted to buy in bigger sizes and stock for next year!

I mean, for $50-$60 per girlie, we’ve pretty much assembled 85% of their wardrobe for the season. And I consider that a wild success.

It’s been a long time since I so wholeheartedly jumped on a fashion bandwagon of any kind, but I’m all in on this one. And already praying it will transition some how some way to the warmer weather.

So in summary, in case I’m being too subtle (I kid, I kid)...

Yay for velvet!

P.S. I should have known my velvet craze was a’brewing when I bought these beauties last holiday season. A storm (of love) was coming and I didn’t even know it!
