Chicklet’s Dance Class Picture Day!

Oh my goodness, today was Chicklet’s dance class dress rehearsal/picture day and it was just so dang priceless, I couldn’t stand it.

I learned with Chica a couple years ago that nothing—nothing—is so heart-melting as seeing your little nugget all dolled up. Hair up, sequins shining, makeup on (for the first time!). It’s just so gosh darn cute it slays me.

I was worried Chicklet would put up a fight about the costume, as it’s rather snug, and she doesn’t dig anything that’s constricting. But I won her over with the tights of all things, ha. 

She usually wears footless ones to class (again with the hating of constricting things), so this was her first pair in a while and she thought they were hilariously, awesomely slippery, (“like ice skates”) hehe.

And once the costume was on, the hair and makeup process was fairly painless—though she put her foot down over the eye shadow. She wasn’t having it, ha.

But her reaction to the finished product was priceless.

I adore my beautiful, bubbly girl, and I’m so proud of her for sticking with class until she fell in love with it, and for feeling her first sense of classroom accomplishment (with the trophy to show for it!)
