Full

Oh my goodness, what a few days it has been.

Starting with a message last week from my does-a-soul-good, beloved friend and godmother o’ my children.

Long and short: due to some difficult and last-minute work/personal circumstances, she was flying to town stat, and it was our great fortune to be her homebase during her time here.

Have I mentioned how much I adore my dear friend, and how happy I always am to see her???

And the kiddos, too. :)

I never could have guessed last week how this visit would have come about, but boy am I grateful.

I mean, between her visit here last Fall, our trip to Disney/her hood in March, and now this...I’m getting downright spoiled!

Spoiled by her lovely presence.

But also spoiled by the fullness of life in general these days. This visit serving as just one example.

I mean, I had so many moments this past weekend to noodle on the state of life these past months. And I must have been in a contemplative mood again this afternoon because the noodling continued as I came down from the high of the weekend after my dear friend departed.

I guess the easiest way to sum things up is to say that a certain busyness has settled over our family life that just seems to be gaining momentum.

And while I’m a person who most definitely needs time and space to decompress and re-center on occasion, I find that I’m acclimating to the new fullness of things—partly because I don’t know that I have much of a choice to do anything about it!

I mean, these days, we are...

Full of activities and commitments.

Full of to-do lists and errands.

Full of learning goals and experiences.

Full of growing kiddos and active brains.

Full of morphing personalities and related parenting challenging.

But.

We’re also full of play dates and new friends that are becoming good friends. We’re full of fun end-of-school-year events and celebrations and summer activities that are taking shape. And we’re definitely full of family visit and out-of-town adventures that are suddenly right on the horizon.

I mean, life is just busy.

But full.

Of more wonderful things than challenging things, so I’m just gonna roll with it.

But maybe try to get a bit more sleep!

Much more tomorrow as I attempt to catch up on a few things from this past weekend.

For now, just enjoy some of the (few!) random shots from this weekend (Hot air balloon! Yummy sugar cookies! Cute Little Man.), and I promise more soooon.

Over and out.
