Chicklet’s Thanksgiving Feast & Fun!

Oh my heavens, we had another milestone day today—Chicklet’s very first school performance, and, man, was it too cute for words!

Also—I gotta say that I continue to be nothing but wildly impressed with her school and all the added extras and planning they seem to put into everything.

I was told that this Finger Food Feast and celebration was their biggest event of the year, and: a) it totally showed, and b) I really adore that it wasn’t for the expected Christmas season (hello, overscheduled and overcommitted by then!). This was just a nice kickoff to the big snowball of the season, but at a time when everyone wasn’t already feeling seasonally overwhelmed, ha.

The school is so large that they split the classes up over three separate days of feasts, and even so, the gymnasium was filled!

But they were wildly organized with assigned seats and oodles of stinking adorable crafts and place settings that the kiddos had been working on for weeks.

Each classroom was assigned a type of finger food to contribute (ours was a fruit tray), which made it so easy to eat a little something after the performance.

Heeeeere’s my big girl in all her adorable glory. :)

She may look a bit sad in this pic below, but she was actually just getting sentimental over this craft that she loved so much and was tearing up at the idea that she got to bring it home to her room, ha.

I’ve sort of put these pictures out of order, since everything kicked off with the performance by all the stinking cutie-pies. So here are a few pics of my girl (who totally nailed all the words and motions to each song and was really into it, hehe). I wish I could post all the adorable video, but here are a few screen grabs to give you the gist.

I mean, it really really was a wonderfully organized and executed event, and I’m so thrilled Daddy was able to drive up during his lunch hour to join in and celebrate our girl.

We’ve really been so blessed with some wonderful school-centric events and just quality time over the last few weeks. I couldn’t be happier for these positive associations between happy times and my kiddos’ places of learning. And, of course, holidays.

Our exterior Christmas lights at our casa may or may not have gone up this morning.

Let the festive fun keep-a-comin’!

Over and out.
