Some Poppin’ Art!

So...my beloved eldest was home today to continue a bit of recovery before diving back into school mañana. And I definitely think it was the right call—for her and the entire household, to be honest.

Because it gave us a day to chill and play and lengthen nap time, and just loosen up our usual weekday schedule a bit. And it was loverly.

And, of course, no low-key, loverly recovery day around our casa would be complete without some project time.

And today’s was a real winner—which is funny, because: a) I gave it to the kiddos last Christmas and we’re just now busting it out, and, b) it was really just coloring with markers, ha.

But really cool markers in a really cool case...

And really rad (yes, rad...it just feels right for the first time in my life) coloring sheets.

Now I suppose I should admit right here that I’m not the biggest fan of markers for my trio. They’re just more trouble than they’re worth (yes, even the washable ones)—and that’s coming from a Mama who will pretty much sign up for any crafty mess with her kiddos.

But.

I’ve recently come to the realization that I don’t completely mind thin markers. Less mess, more precise artwork.

So.

The kiddos were pumped to actually have markers at their disposal. And I’m not gonna lie—this was one weirdly addictive and therapeutic round of coloring, even for me. This was my page, ha:

And I was wildly impressed with the attention span and attention to detail from all of my little nuggets—but especially the girlies.

They were happy artists.

Some of the colors took awhile to seep into the coolio paper before appearing, and Little Man got a kick out of the magic of it. :)

Concentration tongue, hehe.

I loved this bold lime green of Chica’s leaves.

And the ultimate sign of a winning project: they came back for more! We finished one round before lunch, and then they asked to do more after nap time/quiet time. Woohoo.

It might take me six months to finish mine, but I’m totally up to the task. ;)

P.S. Because it’s November and Little Man is pumped for Christmas this year, we busted out our slimline, rose gold, dining room tree today, and we’re just pretending it’s a Thanksgiving Tree, ha.

Happy Monday, peeps!
