The number of life events and to-dos that we have been packing into our days is just insane in the membrane (like oodles and gobs of people this time of year), and as soon as I can give more detail regarding our specific life happenings (translation: as soon as I have time for a lengthier post on that front!), I will.
But for now, just believe me when I say it’s multi-tasking at its finest!
And yet.
Today, we put it all aside for just a couple of hours and focused on the magic of the season.
And, man, am I grateful something spurred me to book these tickets for a local Polar Express experience months ago, because we needed the joy and family time.
:)
Unfortunately, even when I booked our tickets in October, this event was completely sold out on evenings and weekends. So a random Monday it was! Requiring me to bust Chica out of school before lunch, but it was totally worth it.
The gist:
- A winter village
- A train ride aboard this local Polar Express (20 minutes in one direction, then 20 minutes in reverse)
- Some song-a-long time aboard
- A visit from Mrs. Claus
- Cookies and magical frosty chocolate milk
- An “I Believe” jingle bell necklace
- An exit within The North Pole
- Faux snow
- A 20-minute show featuring Santa and some elves
It was all the good, magical cheer. But mostly, it was confined, happy family time—with cute/ugly sweater attire involved. ;)
