Closing The Stop Gap

Oh my heavens, we did it!

We’re in San Antonio!

Together!

As a family!

And our new house is at least at a point that we can move in tomorrow, and just bear with the remaining renovations for the upcoming weeks.

I mean, can I get an Amen, HALLELUIAH, for lots of that?!?!

But.

Before I get carried away with moving extravaganza posts and all thing New City, New Life, I want to round out the last of the little activities that got us to this point over the past couple o’ days.

First—in Tulsa, with all three grandparents on Thursday, when we lived it up at the zoo, despite frigid and blustery conditions that kinda sorta made everybody sick all over again, ha.

But despite the conditions, the kiddos were in heaven—as they always are at any zoo—and I didn’t even mind the gazillion dollars I spent on stuffed animals, mittens, train rides, carousel rides, camel rides, you name it. It’s was just one of those YES days. ;) For my babies who have been so adaptable in these crazy weeks.

Any animal day is a good day in our book (even a frigid one).

And it’s an extra-good thing we took care of our excursion on Thursday before we drove to Dallas on Friday...to be reunited with Daddy, who flew there to meet us and drive the rest of the way to San Antonio.

We sprung (though it didn’t cost that much, actually)
for a fantastically fun night’s stay at The Gaylord Texan—a resort we know well and love well, because its home to our beloved ICE! Exhibit we attend every holiday.

Since our stay was short and we were all so weary, we thought about changing reservations to something less grand at the last minute, but, man, am I glad we didn’t. The kiddos were BURSTING with joy and enthusiasm for this coolio place.

It truly is a whole little world all its own in that dome. Super cool. And a super great way to celebrate all of us being back together again, for good.

(P.S. Five peeps in two beds and one hotel room was quite cramped, and my son was a crazy bed hog, but we were snug as a bug, and I wouldn’t have changed it for anything.)

Here we are at night, upon our arrival:

The awesomesauce view from our balcony:

And some happy smiles and exploring kiddos in the morning:

So happy to turn these tedious travel segments into some fun diversions in these final days before we truly dig in at the new house.

And praise the heavens we’re now in one place, all together, for the foreseeable future!

More soon, peeps.

Over and out.
