Curtain Swooning

Okay, m’peeps. You ready for a totally and completely random post, dedicated to my mad love for the new curtains I just purchased???

If not, abandon now!

Do not continue reading!

But if you’re still with me...know this:

My crazy lurv for curtains with flair has long been dormant—given the hubby’s lack of interest in window treatments in our previous home. He just preferred the clean look of the plantation shutters, so for the most part, downstairs, I let that simplicity stand.

But, NO MORE!

As with loads o’ things in this new house, we’re going bold and beautiful, and definitely not subtle, ha. We wanted a statement of general obnoxiousness. But gorgeous obnoxiousness. ;) Something that certainly wouldn’t fade into the walls.

And what could be more beautifully, non-into-the-walls-fading, obnoxious than...marigold (not gold, not yellow, but marigold) velvet curtains???!

I die. And, sadly, the light in this pic doesn’t even do their blazing glory justice, hehe.

So, those marigold beauties are for the living room. And in the kitchen...a bold, modern floral in blush, copper/tangerine and navy/purple hues. With embroidered embellishments. :)

I mean...both the hubby and I are loving the vibrancy they add to the spaces! So fun!

I started with two panels for each area, until I decided if they’re keepers (yaaaaaas, they ARE!), but we might go even bolder and see what four panels look like in the living room. Considering you enter the house and stare straight ahead into that view, it certainly gives a vibe of fun and life, and I’m diggin’ it!

Grateful for a couple of tiny progressions, decor-wise over the past couple of days. We’d fallen a bit stagnant in finishing some things out after we halted for family visits, but we’re on it again—and, fingers and toes crossed—we should get the cabinet doors installed within the next couple of days. Woohoo!

Okay, if time allows, it might be a double post day later tonight of some baking fun with my LIVELY spawn.

Happy Hump Day, peeps!

Over and out.
