DeLappenings: School’s Out, Summer’s In (2019)!

Oh. My. Freaking. GOODNESS.

We did it!!!

Woohoo!!!

At long last, the finish line was crossed, and all afternoon, I’ve been breathing some huuuuuge sighs of relief.

School is OUT.

My girl did so incredibly well this year with a really tough move and transition.

She handled it like a PRO (never once complained about school).

She maintained her sweet disposition (yay, for a classroom award for kindheartedness!).

And she didn’t skip a beat academically (her report card was stinking awesomesauce).

I could not be more grateful for her seamless and uncomplicated transition these past couple of months.

And I’m also so grateful that we got to end the year with a little bang by bringing cupcakes to her classroom this afternoon (and a cape and a crown headband, naturally) to allow Chica to celebrate her June birthday a couple weeks early with her classmates.

She was the absolute perfect blend of excited/shy/embarrassed/thrilled, and I lurved it. :)

And lemme tell ya how much Chicklet adored being up there with sissy and the big kids. She is going to slay kindergarten come Fall. :)

And this one, I’m gonna start binding at night so he can’t grow anymore. My babies are way too OLD!!!

As grateful as I am to have been on autopilot these last 10 weeks, just powering through the remainder of school year without much thought while so much attention had to divert elsewhere, I’m equally as excited about a fresh start next year.

I’ve missed the level of involvement that we’d established prior to the move, and with two (two!) kiddos in this elementary school in the coming year, I’m so ready to dig in stronger roots.
