Leaf The Elf Has Arrived!

Oh my goody gumdrops, it was an exciting day ‘round these parts, because our very own household elf, Leaf, arrived today! Woohoo!

Now.

Our beloved Leaf typically doesn’t arrive until exactly two weeks before Christmas (or two weeks before we have to travel for Christmas), as he is quite a mischievous elf, and gets into quite the predicaments and makes quite the elaborate messes, and he apparently doesn’t want to wear out his welcome beyond 14 nights of creative fun, ifyouknowwhatimsaying.

However.

Chica had been dreaming about and daydreaming about, and analyzing and discussing his arrival for days, and when she woke this morning, and asked about Leaf before her eyes were even open, I knew that it was time for that darn elf to just get here, already!

Especially considering I was fearful she wouldn’t be as excited about Leaf again this year, ifyouknowwhatimsaying.

So while everyone is still gung-ho, magically pumped about his presence within the house, we’re going to take full and delightful advantage. Because these years are precious

Thank heavens, Leaf heard us talking about him, and begging for him to show up (we reached the rational conclusion that it was just taking him longer to make it to San Antonio, as we are now further south in Texas, and he’s, of course, traveling from The North Pole).

Because he snuck in this afternoon while we were away, and, man, was it great to see him! Little Man discovered him just before it was time to pick up the girlies from school. :)

I mean, I adore these pics (even with the heinous clutter of the piano room in the background—the one room that’s still unfinished, ha).

And I love this very serious conversation I caught between Chicklet and Little Man, tehe.

Chica was so excited to show Leaf off to Daddy when he made it home. :)

And though we don’t know for sure...I have it on good authority that Leaf was really admiring the pool today (as we’ve never had one before), and may or may not have positioned himself for a little (safe, indoor) Sejm for the morning. With rubber ducky friends to lead the way, of course. ;)

In other fantastic news, look who else arrived today! Nanna!

Happy Almost Thursday, peeps!

Over and out.

P.S. I have oodles of other pics I’d love to post (it was a beauuuutiful day and we spent some time outdoors), but I’m too tired. So another day! Oh, and pics another day of the next holiday project we did tonight. :)
