Bless You, Playground

Holy moly, if ever there was a school week that needed to end, stat, it’s this one, ha.

Though we’ve trudged our way forward, meltdown by meltdown, we owe a major round of applause to our new favorite wintertime-in-SA place: our neighborhood playground. Pretty much the only thing that’s kept us from complete and total insanity.

You know, I made a deal with my older bro, who lives in Wisconsin, that he gets to complain about the weather for the six months of the year that he’s shoveling snow, and I get to complain for the six months that are a holy inferno of heat, ha.

But this is the upside to living in South Texas: being able to play outdoors, in shorts sleeves or a light jacket in the (fake) dead of winter, and totally bask in the joy of the sunshine. :)

And also bask in the dirtiness of letting my rascals go without shoes for a bit, just for kicks and giggles.

I mean...I seriously am so grateful for this space we’ve really bonded with this week.

I’ve mentioned this before, but the neighborhood playground and common area is situated on the highest bluff around, so the view is lovely, the breeze is heavenly, and we usually have the complete run of the place.

It’s really been fantastic. And a great way to run off some steam and bring some smiles.

So, yay, for this happy place to enjoy during this “winter” season, before that inferno comes back around and keeps us away.

Happy Almost Friday, peeps.

Over and out.
