Doodles & Disaster Zones

Oh holy goodness, my body is tired after a long day of whipping this house into shape. But, boy did it need some attention.

Although, let it be stated for the cleaning record that after the kiddos were forced to pick up the playroom the other day, and I found that they’d just chucked everything they could manage into closets, I wasn’t so happy:

And let it also be said that about 15 minutes after they picked up the playroom that day, it was a complete and total disaster zone again.

Deep sigh.

I’m so grateful they’re playing hard up there these days. But I do wish I could actually see the playroom floor a bit more. Lots o’ obstacles, I tell ya. Lots o’ obstacles.

And I’m only a little ashamed to admit that, today, I got out a giant storage bin and made them watch as I loaded up a bunch of toys and odds and ends that I just can’t stand to pick up one more time. At least for a few months.

I’m proud to say that they were pretty mature and understanding about the process. So...here’s hoping we managed to scale back on just 5% of the daily mess up there.

And now, because I’m too tired to type anything else, here’s a roundup of some of our doodles of the past week.

Hagrid (Chica’s pick):

Little Man drew his “Hagrid” casting a spell on somebody, ha.

Next up was a cute little whale:

Then Iron Spider-Man (Little Man’s pick, obviously):

A cheetah! Woohoo! Little Man was distracted and made me draw his, but colored it in on his own:

Minecraft Steve (another Little Man selection):

A really coolio Sea Serpent (Chicklet’s selection):

And a reminder of the what the playroom can look like when it’s clean. ;)
