The Lazy Dog Days (of Summer)

Well, m’peeps.

Every day, we’re sliding closer to the official start of the school year, now that the 4th of July has come and gone.

And every day, the sun is setting just one minute earlier. Crazy to think, but that means two weeks from now, it will be setting nearly a quarter hour earlier than tonight.

And yet. We’ve officially hit the point that truly feels like the summer trenches. The heat index is full blast, the air conditioners are gasping for breath, and we are fully embracing all of the lazy, hazy, crazy days of July life.

Ironically, this is also the only three week stretch of our summer where we have no visitors, no major plans, no road trips, no holidays or birthdays, and really just nothin’ pressing.

And with the hubby directed to work from home 100% again, it feels like a full-on summer cocoon.

We’re fully living it up with a perfect blend of school days and lazy days, pool play and Xbox craziness, science experiments and project time.

And lots o’ Netflix.

There’s a season for everything. And even amidst the ramping craziness of life right now in this country, I’m going to continue to find my blessings anywhere, anyhow.

And count them twice.

Praying to keep this crazy but playful vibe going as long as humanly possible.

Over and out.
