(Never) Too Soon To Spook?

So.

It’s well documented on this here blog that our family loves Halloween and everything that goes along with it.

Like, love love loves it so much that it’s pretty much risen to our second-favorite holiday—behind Christmas, of course.

It’s just all good fun, it signals the start of Fall and the whole glorious hoopla of the holiday season—and it’s low-stress in terms of family and food obligations.

All wonderful things.

So when our first Halloween catalogue arrived in our mailbox last week, it was cause for major hype and celebration. The kiddos and I sat at the kitchen table and poured over it page by page. :)

And then a few days later, for Chica’s homework writing assignment (directed by yours truly; just to keep her practicing her penmanship), I asked her to write all of our decorations she’s looking forward to for Halloween (I love it how she added some new ones from the catalogue, ha):

And then...on Sunday, when we were waiting in the car at the grocery store for our online order to be brought out, we happened to spy the new arrival of awesomesauce wooden mummies and we just had to bring one home (much to the hubby’s disgruntlement and eye-rolling [“it’s the beginning of August!”]):

To keep the fun vibes rolling, it was my turn to pick the doodle today and I went with the spooky house:

Chicklet got a little distracted before she colored, ha.

Anywho...I promise we’ll tone down the Halloween love. At least until this time next month, when we won’t be able to resist busting out some indoor decorations. But it’s really nice to have a fun diversion during these hot as holy inferno final days of summer. :)

Happy Tuesday, peeps.

Over and out.
