Mermicorn Doodle!

Yup.

That’s right.

You read the title of this post correctly.

It says MERMICORN.

As in, mermaid-unicorn, nash.

And today, we doodled one. :)

All thanks to Aunt Amber, who texted and said she was jonesing for some doodle fun (my words, but hers, ha) during a break from work, and we were ALL IN. Especially when she chose the mermicorn—a drawing I’d been dying to tackle forever. :)

First off, I just have to say that it was a unicorn moment in-and-of-itself (see what I did there??) that we even managed a fun round of doodling today. I mean, there have been many positive, brain-expanding things to come from the start of the school year (see: my last three “crossover” posts), but one of the major losses is our happy doodling time.

We just don’t have enough of it.

Our days are JAM PACKED.

And doodling is an extracurricular joy that we’ll likely only manage once a week, or so.

But that’s better than not at all, and we’ll take it!

As a side note: I managed to catch the kiddos on just the right day, in just the right mood to really engage and enjoy this doodling.

And Chicklet even dug hers so much, and it was so perfectly on theme with her rainbow room, that we framed it and hung it up. :)

So...yay, for a colorful and positive round of doodling today after another CRAZY BUSY school day (hello, standardized testing conducted at home. That was another fun treat).

Last side note on this fun doodling...Little Man’s “boy was showing,” as I sometimes say.

Meaning: he was adamantly against making his mermicorn “too girly,” ha.

A difficult task for a mermicorn, and all, amiright?? ;)

He insisted on no eyelashes, no flowing hair, no “tutu” at the top of his mermicorn tail, and no rainbow colors, ha.

I adore how his turned out. :)

Tomorrow’s Hump Day, and, man, do I hope we can survive it without drama.

Can’t wait until we’re on the downhill slide of this week before a long weekend!

Over and out.

P.S. A final deep thought: do all unicorns have wings??? Or are some flying unicorns and some not?
