Thursday Crazy Vibes

Holy moly, these days are just nuts!

No rest for the wicked, I tell ya.

Chicklet completed her second morning of standardized testing right as Chica conquered her first math test of the year, and Little Man and I headed off to a two hour pediatric ophthalmologist appointment while Daddy was on back-to-back conference calls in his study, trying to keep an ear out for any of the girlies’ school IT support requests, ha.

Never a dull day.

In case you’re wondering how fun a two-hour pediatric ophthalmologist appointment is, let me quell your curiously and just say it ain’t.

Truly, the eye exam itself wasn’t all that painful. Little Man is a smart booger with excellent letter and number recognition (which makes the eye exam so much easier and more accurate), and, thankfully, I can now confirm that he has excellent eyesight.

But.

We were there, specifically, to check out an (a?) astigmatism that our pediatrician noted during the kiddos’ well visit exams a few weeks ago. And in order to truly diagnose astigmatisms in kiddos, you have to dilate the eyes.

So.

Drops in four-year old’s eyes ain’t fun.

Waiting in the car for 40 minutes for the dilation to take full effect ain’t fun.

And dealing with a four (almost five!) year old who really doesn’t like his vision going all wonky for hours and hours of the day really ain’t fun.

But.

The good news is that his astigmatism is so minimal it doesn’t warrant glasses, and we were cleared for takeoff. Woohoo!

Back to our crazy casa of virtual schooling girlies who had a bunch of assignments and a handful of zoom segments to complete for the day.

And hilariously, Chicklet was quite attentive to Little Man upon his return, and even cozied up to him during the reading assignment, so I get the sneaking suspicion she missed him while we were away, ha.

And she definitely enjoyed having a partner in crime during her Go Noodle time (again for school; it’s a dance/movement video series designed to help the kiddos get their wiggles out before they switch subjects and hunker down).

Wiggles, begone.

Crazy...not sure we can ever banish that. ;)

As evidenced by my little hot dog, in costume to complete her virtual music assignment, ha.

Whatever gets the job done, amiright???

Anywho...after such jam-packed school hours, a drive to the actual school to pick up the girlies’ agendas that were passed out today via contactless drive-through, and a grocery haul to deal with, you’d think I’d be ready to scream.

But when the weather turned right before dinner time, a breeze kicked up, the temperature dropped a bit, and rain was imminent, I hollered for the kiddos to race downstairs in their bike clothes, stat, and off we went!

For a really swift, storm-ambiance kind of ride. :)

Chicklet didn’t make the above selfie as she’d already raced inside a little fearful of the rain that was coming, ha.

Anywho.

It’s been A DAY.

Just like the day before that, and the day before that.

But tomorrow is Friday of a holiday weekend and I’m REALLY hoping the teachers have a bit o’ mercy with the assignments.

One can hope, right??

Happy Thursday, peeps!

Over and out.
