Jolly Bellies

So...this morning I woke up feeling a little nostalgic for the ease of eating a weekend breakfast out.

And I also woke up craving IHOP pancakes, specifically.

Because I can—and do—easily make the eggs and bacon and other morning standards at home all the time, but there’s something about those buttermilk pancakes that I can’t replicate.

So the hubby generously offered to drive down the road and pick up a to-go order of just pancakes, and man did he SLAY IT.

He didn’t just come home with a stack of original buttermilk. Nope. No way. No can do.

Instead, he brought home...

Birthday cake pancakes
Cookies and milk pancakes
Pumpkin spice cinnamon pancakes
Double chocolate chip pancakes

And those golden buttermilk beauties. :)

And we had ourselves a festive little holiday pancake sampler. :)

And my little elves also helped me finish up pretty much the last of the wrapping. One passed the pieces of tape. Another wrote the gift tag labels. And the yet another delivered the finished packages to a perfect spot under the tree.

And the last of our random Saturday holiday describes included the hubby assembling our nifty light up willow trees that we bought for the exterior this year.

They’re super fun and inexpensive, so we decided to give them a go. I mean, we might as well add them to the random assortment of hot mess express decorations we have outdoors, ha. And...we’ll pretend the hubby didn’t spend more than two hours meticulously grooming each strand to get them just right before he brought them outside. ;)

I took a couple terrible pictures but they really do look pretty a awesomsauce out there. And the lights twinkle which makes them even cooler.

One of these days I’ll take a decent shot of the whole exterior with our inflatable Christmas tree and candy cane lights, hehe.

Whatever makes the kiddos happy, amiright?

Happy Saturday to all, and to all, a good night!
