Leaf Has Arrived! (2020 Edition)

Well, m’peeps.

Another one of beloved holiday traditions underway!

Let the elf antics begin. :)

Chicklet’s 1st grade class was graced with an elf (who goes by the name of Rose, after a class vote) last week, and Chicklet’s getting so much joy out of Rose’s daily movements. And both of the girlies have friends who have reported elf appearances in their homes.

So...the time was drawing near. ;)

Alas, as our household elf tends to do a lot of elaborately mischievous things, we’ve long discovered that his welcome is prime for about two weeks tops. So he waits to come until right around the start of the second week in December.

The kiddos conned us into a family sleepover in the master bedroom last night, and apparently, it was a prime opportunity for Leaf the Elf to make a very jolly appearance and surprise is all at once...in his own slipper sleeping bag and eye mask. Tehe.

He had holiday Dots candy placed around him in the shape of a heart, and a trusty little I’m back! note, and the kiddos were all a-twitter when they woke, and wasted no time munching on the sweets.

I love how careful they are when getting close to him, so as not to accidentally touch him and make him lose his magic. :)

And even though Chica knows a lot more this year (ifyouknowwhatimsaying), she’s still delighted by Leaf in a major way, and even drew him a couple of silly pictures today.

And for tomorrow...Leaf set a festive table for the kiddos’ breakfast spread, and left a note that they definitely needed sprinkles on their fresh cinnamon rolls. He’s always such a sugar pusher, that one. ;)

So happy to enjoy all of his antics for the next two weeks.

And I hope the enthusiasm remains.

Over and out.

P.S. We had a fun round of a family Jenga set we bought for the kiddos today. Old school classic fun.
