Leaf Escapades—2020

So...I’m just gonna come right out and say that I’ve been a bit of a Grinch this weekend.

For whatever reason, I’ve been on the crank side of life (well, more so yesterday than today) and I do not like living there.

I suspect the reason behind my less-than-delightful demeanor is mostly sleep-deprivation related. I just haven’t been getting enough shut-eye the past couple of weeks. So...I shall do what I can to rectify that. Maybe sometime around New Year’s. ;)

And in the meantime, I’ll share happy post updates like the latest escapades of our house elf, Leaf. (Or perhaps, Leafscapades? Elfscapades?)

Anywho...

A few nights ago, Leaf strung together an elaborate balloon swing for himself from the second floor landing.

In holiday balloon colors, of course.

Luckily, he was harnessed in pretty snug and happy. And he left elf fruit snacks for the kiddos.

A day or two before that, he was displeased with the warm temperatures and lack of snow in South Texas, so he placed snowflakes on the window, and left the kiddos some fake snow “floof” to play with.

Yet another day day (the morning after his toilet paper shenanigans that I believe I already posted), he moved right around the corner from the powder bath to the fluffy Santa wreath. Calm and cozy that day. And he left lollipops for the kiddos to enjoy with their breakfast, ‘cause he’s a rebel like that.

Here’s Little Man showing off his chosen lollipop flavor. :)

And in honor of the kiddos have a sibling sleepover in Little Man’s room on Friday night, Leaf donned superhero gear...

And rounded up some trusty Avenger friends to stand (sit?) guard.

Leaf had been keeping mostly to the downstairs until this little bedroom jaunt. I think it inspired him to start making the rounds, because the next night, he made a hop and a skip across the hall to Chica’s room for a little Harry Potter company.

I have a sneaking suspicion he’ll be popping up in Chicklet’s room come morning.

With some fun accessories that should bring some smiles.

And I know this because I happened to witness Leaf’s fashion show by the Christmas tree a bit ago, and he captured each pose in a selfie with Chicklet’s camera. And then he and the camera went to giggle and wait by Chicklet’s bedroom dresser until morning. ;)

I die for this one...

Our household enjoys Leaf so very much for a couple of solid weeks in December. Since he’s almost always a 14-day-only house elf before returning to the North Pole, we’re at the halfway mark.

Hard to believe it’s only 11 sleeps ‘til Christmas!

Stay healthy, stay sane, stay non-Grinch-y, peeps.

Over and out.
