December/January Doodles!

So...today—a low-key, blah Monday in January—is the perfect day to post a bunch of the doodles Little Man and I enjoyed throughout December and early January.

I love, love that this continues to be an activity that he’s in to—even if I’m a little sad that it typically happens while the girlies are at school, so all three of my crazies can’t join in.

But. It makes it all the more special when we can manage a family doodle (and we did over of the holiday break!), and I’m certain we’ll make it part of our summer routine again, as well. It’s a solid, creative use of our brains and time. :)

Aaaaand an excellent way to get our seasonal cheer on.

Little Man magnanimously allowed us to doodle a Valentine cupcake today. ;)

Now, working backwards to cover the doodles we completed over the past five or six weeks...

Mario face:

Parrot:

This was Chicklet’s selection over holiday break, and I think the combination of it being her choice plus her first round doodling in awhile made her especially in to it. Just look at the amazing background she added to hers!).

Then we had a Yoshi face (I seriously thought we’d made it through all the Mario-related doodles in the whole wide world, but somehow, Little Man always finds more!):

More seasonal cheer with an adorable Santa:

And a happy little gingerbread house:

And this penguin (that I might have already posted sometime in December, as it’s one of my very favorite doodles Little Man has ever done):

A lovely little acorn:

And...Rudolph!

I don’t remember if I ever posted this, but I adored some of our holiday doodles so very much that I framed them upstairs by the playroom:

Already excited to switch them out for other seasonal drawings as we accumulate some.

And in other doodling news...I’ve begun to mull over what, exactly, I’d like to do with all of our beautiful doodles. Now that 2020 has come to a close, I thought it might be time to officially put our year’s worth of drawings in some sort of binder for posterity’s sake. But I’m also noodling over the idea of laminating them before I archive them. Just something to preserve them a bit more, as they represent a ton of lovely memories.

Not sure how much effort I want to put into it, yet, but I’ll let you know when I finally complete my noodling over our doodling (see what I did, there?).

Happy Monday, peeps. It’s the official start of the second half of the school year and homework every night for the girlies—oye. But more on that another day.

Stay healthy, stay sane, peeps.

Over and out.
