Destroyed/Restored—Our 2021 Winter Storm Disaster

Well, peeps.

This has been an emotional picture-abundant post to pull together, but it’s a milestone one, as well. Because we’ve officially made it to the 99% completion point of our home restoration, following our winter storm/burst pipe disaster in February.

I’m not gonna lie...I’ve shed a few tears as I’ve re-assembled the kitchen today. The simple act of putting things back in cabinets has been both cathartic and a bit mournful as I relieve the past four months.

It was a tough Spring.

There were a few weeks of really concentrated challenges that had me overwhelmed to the point of just wanting to bury my head in the sand—or shove a For Sale in our front yard (and I don’t think anyone would have blamed us!).

I mean, anyone who’s heard even a handful of the insane events of our life in San Antonio during the past two years knows we’ve certainly been through it. But we somehow make it to the other side each and every time, despite a ton thrown our way. And we certainly see silver linings everywhere we look.

But.

We’re SO ready to put this Spring of 2021 behind us and to launch into Summer with a restored home, vaccinations, and a long list of activities and experiences to enjoy!

We’re READY.

And now...a gazillion destroyed/restored pics!
